How the system works
Living Water's alkaline RO units are multi-stage. Water passes through sediment and carbon pre-filters, then a semi-permeable membrane, then a post-filter and a remineralization stage that adds minerals back for taste. The result feeds a dedicated faucet, and a line can go to the refrigerator's ice maker.
Why it fits Belle Glade water
- Chlorine taste: PBCWUD's Western Region stays on chlorine year-round, with a highest running annual average of 2.57 ppm in 2025. Carbon pre-filters reduce it at the sink.
- Dissolved minerals: the membrane reduces total dissolved solids, including sodium.
- Consistency: the water tastes the same day to day.
If a specific contaminant is your concern, look for a model certified for it under NSF/ANSI 58 and check that exact model's listing.
RO is also a practical answer for households that buy a lot of bottled water for drinking, coffee and baby formula preparation, or that simply want water that tastes the same every day regardless of what happens in the pipes. It does not treat the shower or other taps; for that, see whole-home filtration.
What installation needs
- Room under the sink for the unit and a tank, or a tankless model.
- A drain connection for the membrane's reject water.
- A hole in the countertop or sink deck for the faucet.
- Adequate water pressure, which Jorge checks during the test.
Compare tankless vs. tank RO.
Most installs take a few hours. Jorge explains where each component goes before starting and shows you how to check the faucet, tank and filter housings afterward.
Upkeep
Pre-filters and post-filters are changed on a schedule, and the membrane less often. Ask for the schedule and part numbers in writing. See RO cost factors in Belle Glade and RO maintenance and operating costs.
A sign that filters are due: slower flow at the RO faucet, or a change in taste. Don't wait for either if the schedule says it is time, because a spent carbon pre-filter lets chlorine reach the membrane.
Homes, offices and gyms
RO suits a family kitchen, an apartment, a church office or a gym's water station. For businesses that use a lot of water in equipment, softening may matter more than RO; Jorge will separate those needs. Call, text or WhatsApp Jorge at (305) 793-5974.
