What the USD publishes
- The Annual Water Quality Report, posted on the city's Annual Water Quality Reports page, with reports going back to 2012.
- A Water Quality Dashboard linked from the Utility Special District page.
- Notices about free chlorine flushes and other work.
Questions about the report: 561-845-4185.
The report also lists the USD's 2025 source water assessment: the Florida Department of Environmental Protection found 24 potential sources of contamination near the wellfield, with low to moderate susceptibility. That is about the wells, not your tap, and the full results are on the FDEP Source Water Assessment and Protection Program site.
What a home screening covers
| Test | Why it matters here |
|---|---|
| Total chlorine | The USD lists a highest annual average of 2.87 ppm, with samples from 0.50 to 5.30 |
| Hardness | The plant lime-softens, but no hardness figure is published |
| Dissolved solids | Baseline for RO decisions |
| pH | General reading; lime softening raises pH at the plant |
Lead and older homes
Many Riviera Beach homes date back decades. The USD's 2025 report lists a 90th percentile lead result of 2.4 ppb from August 2023 sampling, with no sites over the action level, and explains that lead comes mainly from service lines and home plumbing. A home screening is not a lead test. If you are concerned, the report suggests having your water tested and flushing your tap for 30 seconds to 2 minutes after water has sat for hours.
Wells and labs
For a private drinking well, the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County Environmental Laboratory tests for total coliform and E. coli; call 561-840-4500. See home screening vs. lab analysis.
When to test
- Before buying a filter or softener.
- After a free chlorine flush, if something still seems off.
- When the new treatment plant comes online, to see what changed.
- When buying an older home.
Testing before and after the new plant starts is one of the most useful things a Riviera Beach homeowner can do. It shows whether your existing equipment still fits, rather than guessing from a new report.
How to book
- Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974.
- Jorge tests at your tap.
- He explains the numbers in plain words.
- If a system fits, you get an itemized quote. No obligation.
