What you are paying for
An under-sink RO system treats the water you drink and cook with at one faucet. A typical system has a sediment pre-filter, carbon stages, the RO membrane and a final polishing stage. Living Water's alkaline reverse osmosis system is multi-stage with a dedicated faucet and adds a remineralization stage, which many people choose for taste. It suits a home, office, apartment or gym.
Installation factors that change the quote
| Factor | Simpler install | More involved install |
|---|---|---|
| Faucet | Existing spare hole in sink or counter | New hole drilled in stone or quartz |
| Drain connection | Accessible drain with room for a saddle | Garbage disposal or tight trap that needs rework |
| Cabinet space | Open cabinet | Crowded cabinet, or unit placed in a nearby space |
| Storage | Tankless unit, or tank that fits | Tank relocated or extra line run |
| Extra connections | Faucet only | Line to fridge or ice maker |
| Setting | Home kitchen | Office, gym or break room with different plumbing |
What the quote should list
- The exact model and its stages.
- Whether it has a storage tank or is tankless, and the faucet included.
- Labor, drilling (if needed), drain and supply fittings.
- Any fridge or ice-maker line.
- First-year filter schedule and what replacements involve.
- Warranty on the unit, the membrane and the labor.
- For any contaminant claim: the NSF/ANSI standard (RO systems are commonly certified under NSF/ANSI 58) and the specific claims on the model's listing.
How the visit and quote work
Jorge comes to your home, tests your water at the tap and looks at the kitchen: the sink, the cabinet, the drain and where a faucet would go. He explains what he found in plain words and, if RO fits, gives you an itemized quote that separates the equipment, the installation and the filter schedule. There is no obligation. Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974 to book.
The ongoing costs
The install is a one-time cost; filters are the recurring one. Ask how often each stage is replaced, what affects that schedule (your water and how much you use), and whether replacements are something you can do yourself or need a visit. See RO filter replacement cost and RO maintenance and operating costs for the full list.

Under-sink RO or whole-home?
RO under the sink is for drinking and cooking water. It does not treat showers or appliances. If your concern is chlorine or chloramine taste throughout the house, or scale, a whole-home system or softener is the tool for that. See whole-house vs. under-sink filter.
