Fluoride by provider
| Provider | Sample | Fluoride |
|---|---|---|
| City of Coral Springs | May 2025 | 0.621 ppm |
| CSID | 2024 average | 0.71 ppm (0.66 to 0.74) |
| NSID | April 2024 | 0.593 ppm |
The regulatory maximum is 4 ppm. All of these predate the state law, so newer reports will show post-July 2025 levels. Royal Waterworks customers should check that provider's report.
The state law, briefly
Florida's 2025 Senate Bill 700 prohibits additives in a public water supply that are not for improving water quality. Florida's utilities ended fluoridation when the law took effect on July 1, 2025. CSID's 2024 report still lists fluoride among its post-treatment chemicals and the City's 2025 report still describes fluoridation, because both describe treatment from before the law took effect.
How fluoride is reduced at home
- Reverse osmosis: a common method; the membrane reduces many dissolved minerals, including fluoride.
- Activated alumina: another method.
- Standard carbon: generally not designed for fluoride.
Check the exact model's certification listing for fluoride reduction. Most people treat only drinking and cooking water, with an under-sink RO.
Kitchen only, or the whole house?
Most people who want less fluoride want it in water they drink and cook with, which is why RO at the kitchen sink is the usual answer. Running the whole house through fluoride treatment is seldom worth it. If you also want chloramine gone everywhere, the common Coral Springs setup is a whole-home carbon system for chloramine plus an under-sink RO for drinking water.
Keep in mind that the starting point differs by provider. Before the law, the City, CSID and NSID reported slightly different fluoride levels, and natural levels may differ too, because NSID draws partly from the Floridan Aquifer while the City and CSID draw from the Biscayne Aquifer.
If you want a documented fluoride number for your home after the law change, ask a certified lab for a fluoride test, or check your provider's next annual report.
Jorge can explain your provider's numbers and which kitchen system fits, during the free in-home test.
A neutral note
People hold different views on fluoride. This page makes no health claims either way. For dental or health questions, ask your dentist or doctor. We explain what is in the water and which equipment can change it.
Testing and next steps
For a documented current level, use a certified lab. Jorge can walk you through your provider's report during the free visit. See water testing in Coral Springs and choosing a drinking water system.
