What the report shows
- Fluoride: 0.54 ppm, sampled February 2023.
- The report's "likely source" column lists erosion of natural deposits, discharge from fertilizer and aluminum factories, and water additive, which is standard wording in Florida reports.
- The sample predates the July 2025 state law, so it does not tell you current practice by itself.

Florida's 2025 law
The Florida Senate's summary of CS/CS/CS/SB 700 says the bill prohibits the use of any additive to a public water supply that is not for the explicit purpose of improving water quality, effective July 1, 2025. Groundwater contains some natural fluoride, which continues to be measured and reported.
No position, just options
Living Waters does not take a side on fluoride. Some people want it and some prefer less. This page is for people who have decided to reduce it at home.
- Reverse osmosis is the common household method. See under-sink RO in Delray Beach.
- Activated alumina is another fluoride-specific media.
- Standard carbon, including most pitchers and fridge filters, is not designed for fluoride.
Certification
For RO, look for NSF/ANSI 58 certification that lists fluoride reduction, and confirm the exact model on the certifier's listing. A box claim is not a certification. In a chloramine city like Delray, also check that the RO's carbon prefilter is suited to chloramine so the membrane stays protected. Compare carbon vs. RO.
What else RO changes
RO reduces many dissolved solids together, including the sodium the city lists at 31.8 ppm. That is why people who choose RO for fluoride usually notice a taste change as well. An alkaline stage adds minerals back for taste. If you only want chloramine taste gone and are fine with fluoride, a chloramine-rated carbon filter is simpler.
Testing and next steps
If someone in the household is on a doctor's advice about fluoride intake, or you mix infant formula with tap water, ask your health care provider what they recommend; then choose equipment to match. A certified lab measures fluoride precisely. Jorge's free test covers dissolved solids, chloramine, hardness and pH, and he can show how RO changes dissolved solids at your tap. Health questions about fluoride belong with your dentist or doctor. Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974.
