What you're filtering, and what you're not
Lighthouse Point's water is softened at Pompano Beach's lime and membrane plants before it crosses the city line, with typical hardness of 1 to 2 grains. So a whole-home system here isn't about hardness. It's about the chloramine that keeps the water disinfected through the pipes, which many people taste in drinking water and smell in a hot shower.
Living Water's whole-home city water systems use Puronics Clarius iGen and Goodspring equipment, described as removing chloramine and chlorine. Ask to see the exact model's documentation.
Sizing for the house you have
Homes vary widely here, from compact ranch homes to large waterfront houses with many bathrooms, outdoor showers and pool equipment. The system must keep up with peak demand without a pressure drop.
| What Jorge looks at | Why |
|---|---|
| Number of bathrooms and outdoor showers | Peak flow rate |
| Main line size and entry point | Where equipment can go |
| Chloramine at your tap | Media type and contact time |
| Household size | Media life |
Placement in a waterfront home
Equipment usually goes where the main line enters, often a side yard or garage. In coastal homes, think about shade, drainage for any backwash, access for service and keeping equipment off the ground. Ask whether the system needs electricity and where the drain line runs.
Ask how the installer protects outdoor equipment from sun and weather, and whether the system can be serviced without shutting off water to the house for long.
Filter and RO together
A whole-home filter doesn't lower total dissolved solids. If you also want lower-TDS drinking water, an under-sink alkaline RO in the kitchen completes the setup. Compare in whole-house filtration vs. RO.
Check your service line
Pompano Beach Utilities' online service-line map lets you search your address and see the recorded material for the utility side and the private side of the line. Pompano Beach says it has no utility-owned lead service lines. A whole-home chloramine filter isn't a lead treatment device; for lead, use a filter certified for lead reduction.

Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974. Jorge checks chloramine, hardness, TDS, pH and iron at your tap, then quotes itemized only if a system fits. Living Water offers financing through its financing partners; you apply with a credit application, and a co-applicant can apply with you. See filtration cost in Lighthouse Point.
