Where the official data lives
- The annual Water Quality Report at wpb.org/WaterReport, with a Spanish edition.
- The city's Safe Water Dashboard, which posts algal toxin results for source and finished water during algae season.
- Notices about the summer free chlorine switch on the city's disinfection page.
The Town of Palm Beach's website refers residents to West Palm Beach Public Utilities at 561-822-1300.
The city's lab, City of West Palm Beach Laboratory Services, can be reached at 561-822-2269 for questions about results. Its reports cover the whole system, mainland and island alike.
What a home screening covers
| Test | Why it matters on the island |
|---|---|
| Total chlorine | Chloramine at your tap; the city lists a highest annual average of 3.2 ppm |
| Hardness | The plant lime-softens, but no hardness figure is published |
| Dissolved solids | The report lists 243 ppm; a baseline for RO |
| pH | A general reading |
Comparing your readings with the report is the useful part. A chlorine reading lower than the city's average can be normal at the end of a long line, or a sign that an existing filter is still working. A dissolved solids reading close to 243 ppm tells you the water at your tap matches the city's sample; a reading far below it usually means a filter or RO upstream.
Lead and older homes
Many Palm Beach homes are historic or have been renovated in stages. West Palm Beach's report explains that lead in drinking water comes mainly from service lines and home plumbing, and directs lead testing questions to City of West Palm Beach Laboratory Services at 561-822-2269. A home screening is not a lead test; use a certified lab.
Wells and labs
For a private well, the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County runs an Environmental Laboratory on the mainland that tests drinking water for total coliform and E. coli; call 561-840-4500. See home screening vs. lab analysis.
Good times to test

- When buying a property, to know what the existing equipment is doing.
How to book
- Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974.
- Jorge tests at your kitchen tap and anywhere else you choose.
- He explains each number in plain words.
- If a system fits, you get an itemized quote. No obligation.
