The facts for Pompano Beach
- The report's inorganic table lists fluoride at 0.59 ppm, sampled in February 2025, against an MCL of 4.0.
- Florida Senate Bill 700 (Chapter 2025-22), effective July 1, 2025, prohibits adding fluoride and similar additives to public water.
- Fluoride also occurs naturally from erosion of natural deposits, so some level may still be reported.

A neutral note
This page doesn't argue for or against fluoride. Questions about fluoride and health belong with your doctor or dentist. Our job is to explain what's in the water and what equipment does.
How fluoride is reduced at home
| Method | Notes |
|---|---|
| Reverse osmosis | A common method for drinking water; check the model's certification for fluoride. |
| Standard carbon filters | Generally not designed for fluoride. |
| Whole-home filtration | Targets chloramine; not a fluoride solution. |
If you only want lower fluoride in the water you drink, a point-of-use RO at the kitchen sink is the usual approach. Treating every tap in the house for fluoride is uncommon and not what whole-home city water systems are designed to do.
Certification
Look for NSF/ANSI 58 certification that lists fluoride reduction for the exact model, and replace filters on schedule. See under-sink RO in Pompano Beach.
If a seller can't show you the listing, treat any fluoride claim as unverified.
Lighthouse Point and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea
Pompano Beach Utilities' report also covers Lighthouse Point and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, so the fluoride figure and the state law apply there too. Homes in Pompano Beach served by Broward County Water and Wastewater Services should check Broward County's report, which lists its own fluoride results by service district.
Ownership notes for fluoride reduction
- RO treats drinking and cooking water at one tap; showers and laundry are unchanged.
- Membranes and pre-filters need replacement on schedule to keep performing.
- An alkaline stage adds minerals back after RO for taste.
See RO cost in Pompano Beach for what drives ownership costs.
Testing
A lab test measures fluoride precisely. Jorge's free in-home test covers chloramine, hardness, TDS, pH and iron, and he can explain where fluoride appears in the city's report. Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974.
