Step one: know your provider
The Town's 2025 Water Quality Report notes that Davie Utilities serves only part of the town. The Town's Utility Service Area map lets you enter your address and see your provider, which may be Davie, Sunrise, Cooper City, Hollywood, Broward County, Ferncrest Utilities, or Fort Lauderdale water through a bulk agreement. Your provider's annual report shows what it measured; the home test shows what is happening at your tap.
What the in-home test looks at
- Chlorine or chloramine. Town of Davie's report lists a chloramine residual averaging 3.2 ppm.
- Hardness, to see if scale is a real issue or if your water is already low in minerals.
- Total dissolved solids, a quick read of how much is dissolved in the water.
- pH.
- Iron and sulfur signs, especially on wells and irrigation systems.
Private wells need a lab test too
The Florida Department of Health says private well owners are responsible for their own water and recommends testing for bacteria and nitrate at least once a year. The Department of Health in Broward County can explain sampling; approved labs are listed by the state. Jorge's in-home screening helps choose treatment equipment, but it is not a replacement for a certified lab test. See home screening vs. lab analysis.
How the visit works
- Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974 to schedule.
- Jorge tests water at your kitchen tap and, if useful, at the point where water enters the home.
- He explains each result in terms of taste, odor, scale and comfort.
- If a system fits, he recommends it and gives you an itemized quote. If not, he tells you that.

Lead and older plumbing
The Town of Davie reports that all service lines it inspected for its lead service line inventory were verified non-lead. Lead in tap water usually comes from home plumbing materials, not the utility. If you are concerned, the Town's report suggests flushing a tap that has sat for hours and having your water tested by a certified lab.
What results often point to
- Strong chloramine, low hardness (common on Town water): a chloramine-rated whole-home system, RO for drinking water, or both.
- High hardness and iron (common on wells): staged well treatment, with softening as one part.
- Everything already in a comfortable range: nothing to buy, and Jorge will say so.
