Test before you price
A softener solves hardness. If your tap test shows low hardness, the best price is no softener. The City of Hollywood's 2025 Water Quality Report describes lime softening for Biscayne water and reverse osmosis for brackish Floridan water. Private wells and businesses are where softeners most often earn their keep.
What drives the price

- What does the warranty cover on the tank, resin and control valve?
