What reaches a Lake Park home
Seacoast's 2025 Annual Water Quality Report lists chloramines at a highest running annual average of 3.7 ppm, close to the 4.0 ppm maximum and very steady, with results from 3.6 to 3.8. That steadiness is useful: a filter sized for Lake Park water will see similar disinfectant levels most of the year.
What you will not see much of is lime-softening scale or high hardness from the plant, because Seacoast's Hood Road plant is mostly nanofiltration. Your test may still show something different at your tap, especially in an older home with original pipes.
What a whole-home system does
- Treats water where the main line enters the house, so showers, laundry, the kitchen and bathroom sinks all get the same water.
- Targets chlorine and chloramine for taste and odor; Living Water describes its Puronics Clarius iGen and Goodspring systems as removing both.
- Leaves the drinking-water upgrade, if you want one, to an under-sink RO system at the kitchen.
Chloramine is harder to remove than plain chlorine, so the media and contact time matter. Read the details in our chloramine filter guide.
Installation in Lake Park's older housing
Much of Lake Park's housing predates the newer communities to the north and west. Before quoting, Jorge looks at where the main line enters, whether there is room and a drain nearby, and whether a hose bib or irrigation line splits off before the house. Many homeowners prefer to leave outdoor spigots unfiltered so the system is not treating lawn water.
Seacoast's capital program lists neighborhood piping replacement in Lake Park. Replacing the utility's mains does not change the plumbing on your side of the meter, so if your home still has old galvanized lines, that is worth a separate plumber's look.
When whole-home is not the right first step
- You only dislike the taste of drinking water: under-sink RO may be all you need.
- You rent or live in a condo and cannot alter the main line.
- Your problem is a rotten-egg smell on hot taps only, which usually starts in the water heater. See sulfur smell in Lake Park.
Maintenance to ask about
Ask how often the media is replaced or serviced at your household's water use, whether the system needs a drain, and what the quote includes. Compare what drives filtration cost in Lake Park and our ownership cost guide.
Jorge tests chloramine, hardness, pH and TDS at your tap for free, then recommends only what fits. Living Water offers financing through its financing partners; you apply with a credit application, and a co-applicant can apply with you. Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974.
