The starting point
Seacoast's 2025 report lists chloramines at 3.7 ppm, sodium at 35.5 ppm, natural fluoride at 0.13 ppm and PFAS not detected. It meets standards. A drinking water system here is about chloramine taste, convenience and the last stretch of pipe.
Because Seacoast uses chloramine, the carbon stage in any drinking water filter matters. Look for a chloramine claim on whatever you choose and check it against the certifier's listing for the exact model.
Four options compared
| Option | Strengths | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Under-sink alkaline RO | Multi-stage, dedicated faucet, fits any home | Needs cabinet space and a drain connection |
| Pitcher | No install | Small volume; many target chlorine, not chloramine |
| Fridge filter | Convenient | Short contact time; model-specific claims |
| Whole-home | Chloramine out at every tap | Not designed to lower dissolved solids |
Questions that pick the right one
- House, townhome or condo?
- How much water do you drink and cook with each day?
- Do you fill water jugs for the boat or fishing trips?
- Are you replacing bottled water deliveries?
A family drinking several gallons a day is better served by RO than by refilling pitchers.
Year-round and seasonal residents also differ: a home closed for summer needs a system that can be shut down and restarted cleanly.
Why Living Water uses alkaline RO
Living Water's system is multi-stage with a dedicated faucet, and the alkaline stage adds minerals back after the membrane for taste. It is a preference, not a health claim. See alkaline vs. standard RO.
Jorge sizes the system to your cabinet and daily use.
Mistakes to avoid
- Buying a pitcher rated for chlorine and expecting chloramine results.
- Letting filters run months past their change date.
- Choosing an RO model that does not fit your cabinet.
- Putting the RO faucet where nobody fills glasses.
Skipping the test is the other common mistake: it is free, and it tells you whether you need more than a simple option.
Storms and getting a recommendation
RO needs water pressure. Before storms, keep stored drinking water as county emergency guidance recommends. For a recommendation that fits your home, Jorge tests at your tap and brings readings, not a sales script. Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974. See under-sink RO and RO cost.
