What Seacoast says
The 2025 report states that water fluoridation, the controlled addition of fluoride to drinking water, is not practiced by Seacoast, and that fluoride occurs naturally at very low levels. The inorganic contaminants table lists fluoride at 0.13 ppm from March 2023 sampling, against a maximum contaminant level of 4.
How this compares with the rest of the county
Florida's Senate Bill 700, effective July 1, 2025, prohibits adding fluoride to public water statewide, and many utilities stopped at that point. Seacoast's report describes not adding fluoride as its practice. Homes in the western service area, which buy water from Palm Beach County, should check the county's report for their figures.
In practice, that makes fluoride a minor factor for Seacoast customers compared with chloramine, which is what most people notice in taste and smell.
Ways to reduce fluoride at home
- Reverse osmosis, certified under NSF/ANSI 58 for fluoride on specific models.
- Activated alumina in some dedicated filters.
- Standard carbon pitchers and fridge filters generally are not designed for fluoride.
Check the exact model's listing for any claim.
Remember that RO reduces most dissolved minerals, not only fluoride. On Seacoast's already soft water, that leaves very little mineral content, which is why Living Water's alkaline RO adds minerals back for taste. Ask any seller which certification lists fluoride for the exact model, how often the relevant stages are replaced, and whether it treats one faucet or the whole house.
A neutral note
Living Water does not take a side on fluoride. Questions about fluoride and dental health belong with your dentist or doctor. This page explains what is in Seacoast's water and how equipment works.
Ask the seller to show you the listing rather than relying on packaging.
Private wells
On a private well, utility numbers do not apply. Natural fluoride in groundwater varies; a lab test tells you your level. See well water in Palm Beach Gardens.
If fluoride is your main reason for considering RO on Seacoast water, it may help to look at the other reasons too, such as chloramine taste and a dedicated faucet, before deciding.
Where RO fits
On Seacoast water, the stronger reasons for an under-sink alkaline RO are usually chloramine taste and a dedicated drinking faucet, not fluoride. Compare in best drinking water system for a Palm Beach Gardens home. Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974.
