What RO does with Dania Beach water
Reverse osmosis pushes water through a very fine membrane, with carbon stages before and after. With Dania Beach utility water, people notice it most for:
- Taste and odor: the carbon stages address the chlorine or chloramine residual. The city reports chlorine at a 2.88 ppm average; Broward County and Hollywood use chloramines.
- Dissolved solids: the membrane reduces minerals and salts, including sodium, which the city lists at 22 ppm.
- Specific contaminants: only when the exact model is certified for them under NSF/ANSI 58. Check the listing.
Why alkaline
RO water is low in minerals. Living Water's alkaline RO adds a remineralization stage after the membrane, which many people prefer for taste. It is a taste and preference choice, not a health claim. The difference is explained in alkaline vs. standard RO.
Condos and rentals near the beach
Much of eastern Dania Beach is condos and apartments, where you cannot touch the main line. An under-sink system needs only space in the sink cabinet, a cold-water connection, a drain connection and a hole for the faucet. Jorge checks cabinet space, the drain layout and whether your sink or countertop already has a spare faucet hole. Ask your association about any installation rules before the visit.
What installation involves
- A test of your tap water so you can compare before and after.
- Mounting the unit and storage tank in the cabinet.
- Installing the dedicated faucet.
- Connecting cold water and the drain line.
- Flushing the system and walking you through filter changes.
RO or something bigger?
RO covers one tap. If the disinfectant smell in the shower bothers you too, a whole-home system handles every tap, and many homes use both. For a side-by-side of all options, see the drinking water system guide for Dania Beach.
