Where the RO goes in Hollywood homes
Most systems sit under the kitchen sink, but not all. In some Hollywood condos the cabinet is shared with a garbage disposal and a water heater shutoff, leaving little room, which can favor a compact tankless design. In houses, a basement-style install is rare here, so the garage or an adjacent cabinet can hold a larger tank with a line run to the sink. A remote line to the refrigerator adds tubing and labor. Does Hollywood water change the math?
Somewhat. The city's water is already treated with lime softening, membrane filtration and, for Floridan Aquifer water, reverse osmosis. That generally means less load on a home membrane than raw well water would put on it. Chloramine, though, has to be handled by carbon prefilters, so their capacity and replacement schedule matter here.
