The starting point
Jupiter reports chloramines at a highest running average of 2.99 ppm and sodium at 46.8 ppm; Seacoast reports chloramines at 3.7 ppm and sodium at 35.5 ppm. Neither adds fluoride. Both meet standards. A drinking water system here is about chloramine taste, convenience and the last stretch of pipe.
Because both utilities use chloramine, the carbon stage in any drinking water filter matters. Look for a chloramine claim on whatever you choose.
Four options compared
| Option | Strengths | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Under-sink alkaline RO | Multi-stage, dedicated faucet, condo-friendly | Needs cabinet space and a drain connection |
| Pitcher | No install | Small volume; many target chlorine, not chloramine |
| Fridge filter | Convenient | Short contact time; model-specific claims |
| Whole-home | Chloramine out at every tap | Not designed to lower dissolved solids |
Check every claim against the certifier's listing for the exact model.
Questions that pick the right one
- Condo, townhome or house?
- How much water do you drink and cook with?
- Year-round or seasonal?
- Are you replacing bottled water deliveries?
A family drinking several gallons a day is better served by RO than by refilling pitchers; a single occupant who drinks little may be fine with a certified pitcher.
Why Living Water uses alkaline RO
The alkaline stage adds minerals back after the membrane for taste. It is a preference, not a health claim. See alkaline vs. standard RO.
Living Water's system is multi-stage with a dedicated faucet, and Jorge sizes it to your cabinet and use.
Mistakes to avoid
- Buying a pitcher rated for chlorine and expecting chloramine results.
- Letting filters run past their change date.
- Choosing an RO model that does not fit your cabinet.
- Skipping your building's plumbing rules.
Placing an RO faucet where the family actually fills glasses and pots also matters more than people expect; a system that is inconvenient to use gets ignored.
Hurricane season and getting a recommendation
RO needs water pressure. Keep stored drinking water before storms as county emergency guidance recommends. For a recommendation that fits your home, Jorge tests at your tap. Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974. See under-sink RO and RO cost.
He brings the readings, not a sales script, and will tell you if a simpler option fits.
