Two possible suppliers, one similar water
Small coastal towns often buy water from a neighbor, and Juno Beach is one of them. The Town of Jupiter's 2025 Water Supply Facilities Work Plan says Jupiter provides potable water to properties in the Town of Jupiter, the Town of Juno Beach and unincorporated areas, and counts about 2,450 Juno Beach residents in its service area. Seacoast Utility Authority, based in Palm Beach Gardens, lists Juno in its service area too, and the Town of Juno Beach holds a seat on Seacoast's board.

Jupiter's water: 63 wells and two membrane plants in one
Jupiter's 2025 Water Quality Report says it draws from 63 wells: 12 in the deep Floridan Aquifer, more than 1,500 feet down, and 51 in the shallow surficial aquifer, about 150 feet deep. Nanofiltration treats the fresh shallow water, and reverse osmosis treats the brackish Floridan water. The town says its plant can produce over 70 percent of its average daily supply by desalination, and that nanofiltration replaced its older lime softening plant.
Water reaches Juno Beach through the Juno Beach Repump Station, which the work plan lists with a 1.0 million gallon ground storage tank.
A Juno Beach address in the report
Utilities sample disinfection byproducts at fixed points. Jupiter's 2025 report names 12800 US-1 in Juno Beach as the location of its highest running average for total trihalomethanes, at 1.58 parts per billion, far under the limit of 80. Water near the end of a distribution line has traveled longest, which is why such sites are chosen. For a homeowner, it is a reminder that what reaches your tap can differ from plant numbers.
That sampling site is a useful detail for residents along US-1: it is where Jupiter measures water that has traveled the farthest through its pipes, and even there the reading was a tiny fraction of the standard.
Chloramine, fluoride and PFAS at a glance
- Chloramine: both suppliers use it. See chloramine filters in Juno Beach.
- Fluoride: Jupiter does not add fluoride (natural level 0.088 ppm); Seacoast does not fluoridate either. See fluoride.
- PFAS: Jupiter says its PFAS results have been below the method reporting limits; Seacoast reports no detectable PFAS at its Hood Road plant. See PFAS.
- Lead: Jupiter's 90th percentile lead result was 0.995 ppb; Seacoast's was 1.6 ppb.
Oceanfront condos and single-family streets
Juno Beach mixes oceanfront condominiums along A1A with single-family neighborhoods near US-1. In a condo, water passes through building pumps and risers after the meter, and association rules decide what you can install, so under-sink RO is the usual upgrade. In a house with its own line, a whole-home city water system can take chloramine out at every tap.
Part-year residents should also ask how to shut down and restart any system before leaving for the summer.
What usually fits
- Chloramine taste or smell at every tap: whole-home filtration rated for chloramine.
- Drinking and cooking water: alkaline under-sink RO.
- Softening: rarely needed; both utilities membrane-soften. See water softeners in Juno Beach.
- Private well: a well water system configured from the well's test.
Every Juno Beach topic, and how to book
Systems: whole-home filtration, water softeners, under-sink RO, best drinking water system, softener vs. filter.
Problems: chlorine and chloramine, rotten-egg smell, orange stains, water spots, dry skin after showering, PFAS, fluoride, wells.
Costs: filtration, reverse osmosis, softener. Testing: home water testing.
