JUNO BEACH · UNDER-SINK RO

Under-Sink Reverse Osmosis in Juno Beach

Under-sink reverse osmosis is the most common drinking water upgrade in Juno Beach, especially in condos. Your utility, either the Town of Jupiter or Seacoast, already uses membranes at the plant, then adds chloramine to keep the water disinfected on its way to you. A kitchen RO system uses carbon stages to reduce chloramine and a membrane to reduce dissolved solids, right at the faucet you drink from.

Why RO at home when the plant uses RO

Plant membranes clean the water at the start of its trip. Then disinfectant is added, and the water travels through mains, the Juno Beach repump station if you are on Jupiter water, and your building's pipes. Jupiter reports chloramines up to 4.4 ppm in individual samples; Seacoast reports 3.6 to 3.8 ppm. Kitchen RO deals with the taste of that disinfectant and anything picked up in the last stretch of plumbing.

Chloramine and the pre-filter

RO membranes are sensitive to disinfectants, so the carbon pre-filter protects them. Chloramine is harder on carbon than free chlorine, which affects how often that stage needs changing. Ask what pre-filter the model uses and how its replacement schedule accounts for chloramine.

Condo-friendly

  • Fits inside the kitchen cabinet with no changes to building plumbing.
  • Uses a dedicated faucet.
  • Can be serviced without association work orders in most buildings.

Check your building's rules on drain connections and leak protection first.

Oceanfront buildings often have strict rules on work hours and contractors. Share them with Jorge before scheduling.

What Living Water installs

Living Water's alkaline RO system is a multi-stage under-sink unit with a dedicated faucet for homes, offices and apartments. The alkaline stage adds minerals back after the membrane for taste. See the compact alkaline RO system and alkaline vs. standard RO.

Many households use RO water for coffee, tea, ice and cooking as well as drinking, which is where taste differences show most.

Contaminant claims

If you want RO for a specific contaminant, the system must be certified for it under NSF/ANSI 58. Check the exact model's listing. Both utilities report meeting drinking water standards; most people here choose RO for taste and to stop buying bottled water.

If a particular concern drives your purchase, bring it up during the visit so Jorge can point you to the right certification to check.

Book a test

Jorge checks chloramine, total dissolved solids and pressure at your sink and looks at the cabinet. You get an itemized quote after the free test. Call, text or WhatsApp (305) 793-5974. See RO costs in Juno Beach.

Common questions

Does under-sink RO remove chloramine?

The carbon stages reduce chloramine before the membrane. Check the model's performance data for chloramine.

Will RO work on Jupiter and Seacoast water alike?

Yes. Both are membrane-treated and chloraminated, so the setup is similar.

Can I install RO in a Juno Beach condo?

Usually yes. Check association rules on plumbing work and leak protection.

What does alkaline mean?

A stage adds minerals back after the membrane for taste. It is a taste choice, not a health claim.

How often are filters changed?

It depends on the model and your use. Ask for the schedule in writing.

Does RO waste water?

Every RO system sends some water to the drain. Ask for the model's rated efficiency and how your pressure affects it.
