Seacoast water keeps the scope focused
Because Seacoast's plant uses nanofiltration and low-pressure RO, homes on its water rarely need softening or iron removal. That keeps most quotes to chloramine filtration, sometimes with a kitchen RO. Not paying for stages you do not need is the single biggest cost decision here.
| Scope | What it does | Relative size |
|---|---|---|
| Under-sink RO | Drinking and cooking water | Smallest |
| Whole-home city water system | Chloramine at every tap | Medium |
| Well water system | Iron, sulfur, hardness and more, as tested | Largest |
Price drivers on Seacoast water
- Home size and peak flow: larger homes need more media for enough contact time.
- Chloramine load: steady at about 3.7 ppm in 2025, which sets media capacity.
- Plumbing access and placement, including community rules on outdoor equipment.
- Add-ons such as an under-sink RO.
Two neighbors on the same street can still get different quotes. One may have a garage with easy access to the main line; another may have a long run under a slab, a guest suite or community rules that push the equipment to a harder spot. The water from Hood Road is the same; the work is not. That is why Jorge prices after seeing the house.
Price drivers on a well
- The well's test results: iron, hydrogen sulfide, hardness, pH.
- Number of stages, and any pump or pressure tank work.
- Lab tests for bacteria and nitrate, which Florida DOH recommends yearly.
See well water system cost in Florida.
What the quote should list
- Model, media type and what it is rated for.
- Installation work and materials.
- Maintenance schedule and what service includes.
- Warranty terms.
- The test results behind it.

Ownership costs
Ask how often media or cartridges are replaced, whether the system backwashes, and what a service visit includes. See annual cost of owning a whole-home filter.
Ask, too, whether the installer will retest after the system is running. A quick test shows the system is doing what the quote promised.
