Westchester specifics
Many Westchester kitchens are in houses built in the 1950s and 1960s, according to the county's history of the area. Original cabinets, older drain traps and remodeled stone counters all affect install time. Tank or tankless
Tank RO systems store filtered water in a small pressurized tank under the sink; tankless systems filter on demand and save cabinet space. They differ in footprint, flow at the faucet and parts, which is why tank style shows up as a cost driver. Compare them in tankless vs. tank RO.

Ask whether the quote includes the faucet, drain saddle, fridge line kit and the first set of replacement filters, and whether stone countertop drilling is included. Ask who services the system and how filter changes are scheduled. A written, itemized quote prevents most surprises.
